Cashout Watch- New Tournament

Posted in Slot Tournaments by on the December 7th, 2006

cleopatraTourneyWingood morning all.  i woke up and decided to check the neteller right off the bat to see if the cash out from All Jackpots casino landed early.  it didn’t but the operative word is early, so there’s no disappointment from me.  i just didn’t want to log in say, late tonight and see it and then be wondering how long it had been sitting there.  it hasn’t even been 24 hours, and they’re pretty straightforward in letting players know that a cashout will take at least 24 hours.

with that mini-chore taken care of i wandered into English Harbour.  opened up the tournament lobby, and saw, surprisingly, only one tournament available.  it was a nice tournament though.  the $5,000 freeroll on the Cleopatra’s Pyramid machine.

this tourney is the big one running during the first week of december, and i’m getting in on it a little late.  there are already over 12,000 players.  you get a starting balance of $400.  the player in the overall lead took that $400 and turned it into, get this, $187,929.  holy crud.

let me do that childish thing for a moment where i think “what if that were real money” . . . ok.  it’s over.  back to my senses.

the prizes are being passed out to the payers that finish in the top 90 spots, so that’s at least a little heartening.  if it were only the top 10 spots it would be looking like a really tough nut to crack.

well, since today is the last day of the tourney, if i can manage to catch a money spot, i’ll only have to hold onto it for a couple of hours before the buzzer goes off.  not bad.

ok, here goes, i’ll fire up the machine, and use a pretty big coin size so if i land a winner, it’ll have some effect on the standings.  and, if i don’t hit anything, the new tourney ought to be out tomorrow, so i’ll still have gaming ahead of me ;)   not a bad plan if i do say so myself . . . .

after the first 25 $10 spins, i’m up to $417, but i’ve only made it to 241st place, so i’d better keep spinning.

the second set of 25 spins - i’ve got this thing on autoplay, that’s why the 25 spins thing, nets me this beauty . . .

cleopatraWinner

the bummer, i’m still not ITM!!  so, with only the top 90 getting into the cashish (or more appropriately bonus-eeesh), i have some more spinning to do.  this tourney might end up being one of those “close, but no dice” affairs.

the next 25 spins netter me a free spins session AND a bonus round (where i picked up $21 - dang, i wanted to hit big on that and get shot up to the top!)

i’m hitting winners, and having fun, but my time is running out.  so, i’m bumping the coins size up and either i’ll hit soon and see that magical 90th place or better in the standings, or, i’ll have had as much fun as a loser can have in a tourney!!

here goes . . .

WOO-HOO

cleopatraTourneyWin

ta-Da !!!! my strategy worked !!  and now, i can get off to work in time to :)

oh happy day.

Cashing out at All Jackpots Dec 6

Posted in Casinos by on the December 6th, 2006

here we go ladies and gentlemen, i’m pushing the cashout button at All Jackpots again.  i have some playing to do at the Harbour with the big holiday tournaments all going on, plus, i’m interested in seeing how this will work if i do it right the first time.

i remember that last time i tried to cash out of AJ i kept forgetting to click something on the final screen and it took a long time for me to notice, and go back and get it all sorted.

there’s no bonus money to worry about (they didn’t give me any), and i’m in the banking screen.  ok, i’m at the “your withdraw has been logged successfully” screen.

i’m starting the clock at noon on wednesday . . .

Glory of Rome Test Drive

Posted in Everyday Posts by on the December 6th, 2006

this morning i had the chance to sit down and play the Glory of Rome slot game.  it’s a five line video slot that just came out in december and is available at the microgaming casinos.  i’m playing at All Jackpots, per usual these days.

the first thing that caught me is that you can wager up to 20 coins per payline.  that’s a heck of a lotta coins.  and, there are 20 different paylines to activate, so you can get a lot of wagering in on one spin.  add to that the max coins size is $.50.  high rollers and low ballers alike can find a way to make this slot fit their gambling budgets.

there is a bonus feature on this slot that you unlock by landing the scatter symbol - the gladiator.  you need to land three of these symbols, and as each one hits the music on the slot heightens in expectation.  the reels take a little longer to stop spinning, and the whole slot goes into “anticipation mode”.  it’s really pretty cool.

the caesar symbol is a WILD that will substitute for other symbols and fill in winning combinations.

i just unlocked the bonus feature, where i had the chance to choose four shields from a display of nine.  each shild i chose revealed a prize of “free spins”, and each were worth 10 spins.  so, i just got off of a 40  Free Spin session, where ALL my winners were doubled.

i think the only thing i don’t like about this slot is the little intro movie.  not one of the better ones i’ve seen.  which, makes this a pretty decent slot.

i think with the newer slots from microgaming, it’s really a matter of do you like the theme (i’m not that thrilled with the gladiator thing, but i like that better than the secret admirer theme).  and things like do you really prefer 25 paylines over 20.  are those five paylines a big deal to you.  because all the games are high quality, and the extra touches that come out in one set seem to stay in another.

well, perhaps i shouldn’t say that.  the spring to life, cover the entire column samurai symbol on the twin samurai game is something that makes that slot special.

let me just say that the Glory of Rome slot game has a lot of good things built into it, it doesn’t push the envelope (but at this point, i’m not sure how you could), and it offers some solid gameplay.  errr, plus i won on it, so that makes it a great slot by default ;)

Test Driving the Twin Samurai

Posted in Video Slots by on the December 5th, 2006

this is another of the new microgaming slots that came out on the first of December.  i’m doing some more playing at All Jackpots, and decided to give this slot a few spins and see what it feels like.

twinSamuraiTest

there are several interesting features on this slot. the first is the geisha scatter symbol.  this symbol also acts as the trigger symbol that unlocks the Free Spins Round.  you can land the scatter symbol for a regualr scatter win, or you can land three or more in a row (from left to right starting with reel #1), and unlock a series of 10 Free Spins.  the winning combos are doubled in value during the free spin session.

you can also retrigger the free spins session by landing more scatter symbols in a row.

the second interesting part of the game is the expanding samurai special substitute.  these symbols only land on reels two and four.  and, if they are capable of filling in a winning combination, they will expand to cover all three symbols in the column, and create a winning combo for you.

 twinSamuraiWILD

so, they act like a very tall WILD symbol, or some such sort of thing.  i hit my biggest winner of the session when two samurai sprung into action and filled in reels two and four with wild symbols, letting me create five symbol winner!

i was using autospin (from the expert mode) and didn’t set the game to stop, so no chance to get a screenshot on it.

when the samurai springs into action, there is a cartoon/anime that covers the whole column, so the visual effect, coupled with the samurai sound, really jumps out at you.  i think it’s a pretty neat touch.

before my time on the slot was finished i managed to unlock a free spins round.  most of the spins were worth zero, but i did hit one winner that managed to make the whole bonus round worth hitting.

twinSamuraiTestFree

in the end, i think the Twin Samurai machine is a pretty rich Video Slot game.  it’s definitely a winner.

Mega Moolah Time

Posted in Everyday Posts by on the December 5th, 2006

well, i’m settling in for a little playing tonight, and i’m looking forward to getting some spins in on this Mega Moolah machine.

megaMoolahTest

the animals come to life on the reels when you land a winning combo using them.  the lion even roars in stereo when he makes an appearance as the wild symbol and fills in a payline.

i like the theme of this game.  i like the fact that there are a ton of paylines, and you can turn the coin size down as low as a penny if you want.  so, you can play it forever on just a couple of bucks.

i like the different tiers of the progressive jackpot all working at the same time, from the same screen.  and, when someone hits one of them, there’s a little blurb in the message window in the center of the slot alerting you that “the jackpot was won by another player”.

now, i’m not sure if that’s meant to hurt my feelings, or just to let me know what’s going on :)   and i’m not surprised that lots of people are hitting the big one on this slot because at the lower coin sizes, the jackpot is hovering around ten bucks.  doesn’t shock me that someone can win that much on a slot machine.

still, it’s fun.

i got my gaming in for the night, have plenty of cash left to work with, and think i really like this slot! it’s also fun to mouse over my credits total at the room and see that i can cash out all of it any time i want.  still, a little bonus cash always helps the sessions last, hehe.

i’m putting mega moolah on the list of my favorite video slots.

well, i’ve run through all my cash at All Jackpots, and decided that it’s time to “re-up” my account.  I was thinking of waiting until another % of deposit promo came around, but decided that i’d really rather play tonight.  at least for a little while.

then, i remembered Roxy Palace, and thought i’d just fire them right up.  turns out that i don’t have roxy on this machine any longer.  i KNOW the wife had them on her computer because that’s her favorite microgaming casino.  but, HAD is the operative word.  that computer ended up in my son’s room when the wife finally outgrew it.  so, we stripped the casino from the hard drive before giving it to the young lad.  now he plays whatever the latest version of dungeons and dragons is on it.

what’s the crux of this?  i don’t have roxy anymore!  and to rub salt into it, i can’t find my player info.  that’s the one casino i remember as having the best in current player bonuses.  i’m going to make a point of getting in touch with customer support and seeing if i can’t find my way back into there.

i’m not willing to just download it and open up another account because that’s just a prescription for a headache.  it’s like watching one of those skateboard videos where you say to yourself  “nothing good can come of this :( “.

anyway, i decided to just go ahead and make another deposit at All Jackpots and see how it goes.  with any luck i’ll be writing a story about their cashout procedure again at the end of the week.  and then I’ll follow that up with some news on how Roxy’s customer service depart performs during my quest to get back into the casino and spend some money.

in the meantime, i’m hitting up the mega-moolah machine!

Summertime Slot

Posted in Everyday Posts by on the December 4th, 2006

one of the new microgaming slots that came out on the first of the month, and managed to get in under my radar, is the Summertime slot machine.  it’s a 9 payline video slot, so it’s a bit of a throwback since all of the new video slot games coming out seem to be 20+ paylines.

here’s a shot of the slot . . .

summerTime

it does have some features to it.  there is a Free Spins session that you can unlock by landing 3 or more scatter symbols.  the value of the winning combos during the free spins session is tripled.

and there’s another multiplier on the machine.  the WILD Summertime symbol functions as a doubling WILD, so if you land a winning combo using the WILD, you can rack up some nice wins.

you can move the coin sizes down to a penny, or up to a buck.  the game lets you wager up to five coins per line, so a little creative button pushing lets you wager practically any amount of money per line.

summertimePayouts

you can see from the payouts screen that there are a lot of fruit symbols on this slot, but i won’t be calling it a fruit machine.  that might confuse it with the british fruit machines, and this is certainly not one of those games.

the summertime slot also has a gamble feature on it, so at the end of a winning spin you can risk your win in the double-or-nothing game.  actually, it’s a doulbe or quadruple or nothing, depending on what you choose.

summertimeGamble

instead of the gamble game being something super-simple like a high/low game, it’s just one step more involved.  there’s a deck of cards in the center of the screen.  the player decides to guess either the color of the next card, or, if they’re braver, the suit of the next card.  the payouts are different for the different choices, so you’ll be rewarded more for taking the gamble on the suit than you would on simply the color of the upcoming card.

the slot has the look of some of the newer microgamings, with the custom buttons for things like stats and expert mode.  it also has some symbols that spring into action when they are part of a winning combo, like the scatter and wild symbols.

i hit a cold spell on this game when playing, so i decided to play off the rest of my credits at All Jackpots, which is where i’ve been playing my microgamings for eek, probably two months at least.

i’ll get test drives for the other new releases up later this week.

December Updates at the Casinos

Posted in Everyday Posts by on the December 1st, 2006

well, thirty days has november, so that means today is the first of the new month.  the last month of the year to boot.  and, the casinos have made their monthly updates to their tournaments, and games lists.

the first big news is that . . . I Placed in the $10,000 FreeRoll at English Harbour on the Reel Deal Machine !!!!

woo-hoo!  ahem, ok.  errr, turns out to be ten bucks.  but, it’s really the glamour of it all that i cherish, lol.

so that tourney did indeed come to a close, and another one opened right on its heels.  it’s a $5,000 event on the cleopatra pyramid machine.  the tourney lasts for a week, so you have plenty of time to get in on the action.

at the microgaming casinos, the new games are live!

that’s right, i opened up All Jackpots this morning and noticed that the Glory of Rome, was available for download and play.  So was Summertime slot, the Twin Samurai, and the one I was waiting for, the Mega Moolah machine.

some of slots have the flash introduction movies.  the one from the Mega Moolah was probbly my favorite of the lot.  Summertime didn’t have one, it’s not one of the 20 plus line video slots, but a more toned down 9 liner.

this weekend looks to be especially busy for me, so i don’t have the time to put these games through the normal “new game test drives” at the moment, but you don’t have to worry.  i will be reviewing them as soon as i get a chance to do a little gaming!

have a good weekend everyone!
