Princess Jewel’s Tourney
tonight i checked in at EH to see how things are developing on the big one, the $5,000 free slots tournament on the wheel of chance video slot. my standings haven’t changed much, i’ll need to make a push for it by the end of the tourney because i’m still not in the money on it.
i checked out that else was going on in the tournament lobby, and there was a tourney on the princess jewels game. the tourneys at EH started out with the simpler slots. most of the early ones were on the “three reel bandits”. now that they’re involving the video slots, i think they’ll be a little more enjoyable. at least we’re getting time on different slots than we used to.
here’s the stats on the tourney tonight . . .
> Bonus Money - $250
> Real Cash - $335
there are already 2,343 players in the tourney. that’s a ton. and they all start with $300 in tournament credits. the best of them has already gather over $20,000 in tourney credits. that’s some big time winning!
i’ve gotten my warm up spins in, and i’m up $9, standing in 73rd place. i have some ground to make up, but i’m hoping to hold in there long wnough to unlock the bonus screen, so i’m taking $9 spins on the machine. 9 paylines, at a $1 a coin.
here’s a shot of the princess jewels slot game . . .
the machine has some neat features on it, like an autospin function. it is one of the newer video slots, so that’s not a big surprise, but it’s a nicety. i’ve gotten used to pushing the spin button over and over after all those tournies on the older three reels i played here.
there is also a stop button. it’s not a skill-stop (which i hold no faith in anyway), but just a “stop right now” buttong in case you don’t want to wait for all five of the reels to finish doing their business before you check for winning combos.
when you hit a winning combo, the symbols will come to life, like some of the newer microgamings. maybe they were doing this before the last crop of microgamings came out and i never noticed?
there is a Wild Symbol, and that is the princess herself. there is also a bonus symbol, that i don’t think acts like a scatter. it seems you have to land the fairy godmother symbols on a payline to trigger the bonus round. i’m still chasing that . . .
well, i’m up to 58th place after a couple of nice wins, including a $100 hit. the money reaches down to 23rd, so i’m going to keep on spinning, hoping to catch a bonus screen . . .
oh yeah, can i get a woo-hoo! here it is . . .
the bonus screen is a triple spin on the jewels wheel. there are three layers of jewels, each with a multiplying number value. the wheel spins once, and i landed a 7x. on the second spin, i got a 4x, and on the final one i got a 4x. so thats 7×4= 28 x4 = 112. a $112 bonus spin. in tournament credits, that is.
now, i’m up to $400, but still only 47th place. i’ going to pick up the pace a bit and hope to get another quick winner to launch up into the money in the tourney. . .
well, that was over quick. at $5 a coin, it’s $45 a spin. never did hit a winner. but, i had enough of a bankroll to take some big spins, and i needed a good hit to get up there into the prizes, so i made my move.
maybe next time.
Flying Circus Video Slot
this the the last of the three new slots coming out from microgaming on the first of november. it is not a departure from the other tow release, being another 20 payline video slot (5 reels).
they may have figured they need to solidfy their line-up of 20 paylines, and maybe add some choices of themes for this line of slots. which is fine. i kindof like the 20 line games, and having a few extra themes means more chances for players to find something they really enjoy.
the Flying Circus slot has a free spin feature. there’s no bonus game feature, so i wonder if that unlocks a little extra in the “pay on regular winning combos” department or not. only some serious gameplay would decide that.
the payouts are on this screenshot . . .
checking out the symbols on the reels, i can almost imagine which ones will “come to life” when the slot lands a winning combo. if they don’t have some animations on the reels of this game come payout time i will definitely be disappointed.
that clown looks like bozo, but, not the bozo the clown i knew. hehe, i don’t want to say sinister, but more like “some bald guy i know with clown makeup on”. maybe that’s the ticket.
there is a wild symbol, and there is a scatter. the scatter unlock the free spins round. the free spins round seems to have been kicked up a notch. you get 25 free spins, which is a lot in my book.
i’ll be testing this one along with the others when they come out. once again, this sneak peek is compliments of roxy palace casino.
DogFather Video Slot
the second in the round of upcoming games from microgaming. this too is a video slot, so you’re getting five reels of symbols in action. there are 20 paylines you can activate.
the idea of a godfather, i can see. kind of the mob boss/sopranos-ish theme. the dogFather. i don’t know. is it cute or corny? i’ll decide later.
here’s a sneak peek at the machine . . .
actually, with the dog tag shaped buttons, and the dog bone shaped spin button, along with the fire hydrant as the scatter symbol (btw, this slot has a scatter symbol), i like it. it’s cute. could be corny, but they put enough effort into it that the ingenious stuff shines, and it’s cool.
here’s a shot of the paytable, where you can see some of the symbols. there are dobermans on the reels. i love dobermans. pitbulls, not so much. ahem, the pict . . .
lotsa payouts, took 2 screens.
this is one of those slots that offers two extra features. it has a free spin feature, and a bonus game. the winners during a free spins session are multiplied, so that’s always a good time. the bonus game is a pick’em game.
during the pick’em game, you choose the most attractive (or maybe the least attractive) fire hydrant from a screen filled with them.
it’ll be fun to test drive this slot. i’m not sure what the regular winning on the reels will be like with tripled free spins and a second bonus game. sometimes i think slots like this are “play until” slots. as in, i play them until i hit the freeSpins/bonusGame (either the first time, or “again”).
once again, it’s due out at the beginning of November. i’d like to thank my friends at roxy palace for shooting me a sneak peek at the game.
Pharaoh’s Tomb Video Slot
Here’s the overview of the upcoming Pharoah’s Tomb Video Slot that will be available from the better microgaming casinos on the first of November. i know that roxy palace will be carrying it.
this is an egyptian themed video slot, that has 5 reels, and 20 different paylines. there is a bonus feature on the slot, and i have a screenshot of that. it’s a pick’em game, involving prizes and sarcofa . . . sarcophag . . . mummy coffins.
from the press release, it looks like there are layers to the bonus game. kindof a find the key and move to the next room thing going on. i’ll undoubtedly play the game when it comes out and have a better understanding of it when i go through it first hand. in the meantime, that sounds like an interesting take for a bonus game.
here’s a look at the slot and its symbols . . .
and the paytables on the machine . . .
and here’s a quick look at the bonus screen . . .
the game has a wild symbol, and a scatter symbol, so there’s likely to be lots of action.
here is how the press release describes the bonus game . . .
“ Once the player has achieved three or more of these colorful gilded beetles across the reels the bonus feature is triggered and a quest for the hidden Pharaoh’s treasure, buried through the ages can begin.
The player moves through a series of 3 vast underground tombs carved from the living rock - each grander than the one before. Each shelters 3 sarcophagi, or massive coffins and the player must find within one of these the key to life - an ankh or key that will open the door to the next tomb.
Every time a key is found, a random reward is received, but even the unsuccessful do not go away empty handed - the trigger bet is doubled as a consolation.
The real significance of the keys lies in opening the path to greater riches in the following tomb until the lucky and successful player arrives in the most richly appointed and rewarding of them all. Here the trigger bet is multiplied by a stunning 100 x to deliver up to 100 000 coins on a maximum bet.”
looks like an interesting game, and the eygptian theme appeals to me. if it has those flashy active symbols on the reels when you land a winner, i’ll be even happier.
November Microgaming Releases
i just got word about the new slots that will be coming out at the better microgaming casinos on the 1st of november.
there are three video slots planned for release, the Flying Circus machine, the Dogfather slot, and the Pharaoh’s Tomb game. no further word on the anticipted-by-me Mega Moolah slot.
i have to say that microgaming has been rock steady with new game releases recently. i have recaps for each of the machines, and will be posting them shortly. they won’t be available for play for some time, but i got word from roxy palace that they’ll be carrying them for sure.
cash grab slot
well, i’m not completely caught up with my chores, but i got caught up enough to take a trip over to english harbour and check out how the $5,000 free slots tourney has been going.
they’re up to over 4,000 players in the event. actually, right now they’re at 4,510 players. yours truly is sitting right nice in 158th place. it’s not a money spot, and i will have to make a move before the whole thing is over (and i’ve already made moves south, so there’s no expectation of landing ITM [in the money]). but, 158 out of 4,510 is really good!! that puts me in the top 96.5%. but, ahem, not in the money
i’m going to hold off on doing any playing in that tourney for a while. i don’t think i’ll back into the money, but i’m kindof savoring the event, and not wanting to act too hastily. especially when they’re running another freeroll on the Cash Grab machine.
so, i decided to settle in a do a bit of playing over there. the tourney starts you off with $300 in credits, and offers these prizes:
Cash: $535
Bonus Money: $250
there are, wow, over 2,000 players in this tournament. things sure have taken off at EH for these tourneys.
let me go take my warm up spins . . .
after my first several spins, i hit a couple of winners. actually, it was nice. i built my $300 starting bankroll up to $361, which apparently puts me pretty far from the lead. having so many players makes a difference i guess.
here’s a shot of the machine . . .
it’s not quite the standard three reel slot, although it looks it. they’ve added some sound to the game for winning combos. now, after you land a winner, you can hear the tinkling of coins hitting the metal landing after falling out of the pay chute. i love that addition. it doesn’t make me feel “like i’m right inside the casino”, but, it’s fun to hear. it makes the game better.
the slot itself has a wild symbol on it, and a bonus symbol.
there’s a bit of a kicker on this game. the only way to unlock the bonus round is to play max bet. there are some wild symbols that, according to the payline kick in when playing max bet. but, none of the regular payouts pay any better for three coins instead of two.
so, if you bet two coins and land a cherry, you get paid 4 credtis. if you bet 3 coins and land a cherry, you get paid 4 credits. not six.
the jackpot payout doesn’t increase when playing max coins, as it usually does. so, the only benefit may be in unlocking those wild symbols. let me do some more playing and find out how this game really works . . .
well, that answers that. i’ve been playing 2 coins for a hundred spins, haven’t hit a bonus screen, but i finally hit a winner that used a wild symbol. here’s a shot of it . . .
you don’t have to play three coins to get credit for the wild symbol. so, from now on, i’m playing two coins per spin on this machine!
i’m shutting it down for the night. probably be back tomorrow to finish out this tourney if i can get the time.
Slotland’s Last Jackpot
i went over to the slotland site, and sure enough, someone hit the jackpot! unfortunately they don’t have the amount posted on their front page right now. i knew it was due though, anything over $100,000 and i think that’s ready to hit at that casino.
on the front page of slotland they have, instead, a list of their weekly free draw winners. i checked, my name wasn’t there. but, a couple of people did get over $100. i’m sure that’ll make their day.
Welcome to the new home of the Online Slots Blog
as you can see, everything is lying around in boxes on the floor. i’ve spent the better part of my bog-available time moving all the old posts, and linking right to them from the old blog spots.
i have to go in to work tonight, but wil be right on to the task of cleaning things up around here the very next chance i get!
so, welcome, and sorry about the mess! feels like a home already
Mega Moolah Slot Sighting
ok, it was an AD for the mega moolah machine. but, it got me excitied and i raced right over to All Jackpots to see if the game had gone live while i wasn’t looking. after all, it’s going to be a pretty big deal when it launches.
but, no dice. i simply cannot imagine that the machine is live somewhere and All Jackpots isn’t in on it. so, i’m assuming that the ad was put up a little ahead of time. maybe it’s just a good sign that the machine will be out in the near future.
$5,000 Slots Freeroll Begins
the month of October has started, and so has the mega slots freeroll at english harbour.
players are starting with $500 in tournament credits. i haven’t taken my first spin yet, and i can see that the top 10 players all have $3,000 or better in credits already. the lead player has well over $12,000 (you go russl90 !).
well, after my 10 warm up spins, which i took at the $.50 coin size ($10 a spin) i got nothing. that’s a quick way to shrink a bankroll. so, i took the coin size down a notch, and got a couple of winners. only one was large enough to cover the cost of a single spin.
needless to say, i’m not burning up the charts here, but there’s lots of time left in the tournament. and i still have over $300. actually, i have $370, so that’s far from reaching the bottom.
i’m stopping for now, sitting firmly in 143rd place.
