Dolphin Tale - Video Slot

Posted in Everyday Posts, Video Slots by on the October 10th, 2006

this is one of the upcoming slots from microgaming. here is what i can dig up from the press release (yep, now that i have a highly successful slots blog, i get inside info like that! hehe).

the game is a five reel video slot, with 40 paylines!

there is a wild symbol, and a scatter symbol, and the bonus consists of a series of Free Spins. now, i haven’t played the game yet, but from the screenshot it looks as though players have a selection screen before the free spins rounds start.

and, while in the free spin mode, there’s an Extra Wild Symbol that will appear. so, that’s a neat addition to the slot.

here’s a screenshot of the paylines layout for the slot. it takes some creativity to squeeze that many paylines into 5 reels.

with the outrageous number of paylines, and a 20x multiplier available on the free spins, i wonder how this slot will play.

What on Earth Slot Machine

Posted in Everyday Posts, Video Slots by on the October 10th, 2006

Here we are in day three of my journey through the Bottomless Bonus at Vegas Palms casino. I’m only part way through my play for the day, but am writing because I’ve lost my connection to the casino… again… and I figured I’d do some writing before logging back on. It takes a couple of minutes to get up and running and just as soon as I do, I get distracted doing something else and am logged off in the blink of an eye. The fact of the matter is, it’s my own fault. I’ve never been logged off while I was playing, only when I’ve strayed from total attention.

I started out the day with $211 in my bonus money bank. Now, remember, it doesn’t matter if I win $2M, all I can collect is $100. It also doesn’t matter if I loose it all ten times a day, I can keep topping off my bonus bank money up to my original $50 as many times as I’d like for a full five days. I’m on day 3.

So, I was playing recklessly at a three reel, one payline slot called Party Time. Talk about a basic slot. Anyway, pretty quick, I was up to $340. I hit several Martini Bar symbol winning c combos for $30 each and then a Champagne Bar for $90. That’ll teach me to look down my nose at a classic slot.

Back again and I found a way to keep from loosing my train of thought and getting logged off.

I was in search of a video slot that I hadn’t played before and landed on What on Earth. It’s a classic five reel, nine payline game with a wild symbol and scatter symbols that activate a neat bonus. I was playing along and ran across just such a bonus. I was presented with a set of five space creatures in space ships hovering above the earth. The bonus is called the Beam ‘em Up bonus. The idea is that you get more points for beaming up more earthlings. The first time I won a few coins, the second time, I won 1800! I was up to $800 in my Bottomless Bonus bank account. Little dance around in my chair. Gotta remember it’s not real money.

Now, here’s how to keep playing without getting logged off… this game has an auto spin feature. It allows you to keep playing while you’re doing other things. You get there by clicking on expert. It lets you decide how many spins and when you want the game to stop. I set it on stop for a win over $50. I set my coin size to .25, and bet all 45 coins per spin. So each spin cost $11.25. Wow, that auto spin can sure run through the money fast!

I must admit, I was watching Gilmore Girls and not paying much attention. I was somewhat shocked to see that I had gotten down in the $400 range pretty quickly. Now remember, it’s not real money, so what the heck. So, I went back to watching Rory at her first Yale class when I was shaken awake by a stoppage in play… guess what!? I hit a row of five blue space aliens for a payout of 1000 coins! That’s $1,250! Plus two lines for $5 each, that made a win of $1,260. Pretty darned cool. That wild symbol is wild only for the blue space alien and the space man. Just one more wild symbol and I’d have hit the 7,500 top pay or $9,375!

what on earth winner

Too bad nothing over $100 does me any good.

Cleopatra’s Pyramid

Posted in Everyday Posts, Video Slots by on the October 9th, 2006

well, i did it. i was sitting at the machine, making the rookie mistake of rookie mistakes. this video slot overwhelmed me at first. there are twenty paylines on the thing!

i was taking spins, playing one payline at a time. wondering why i always hit winners on the first payline! eeek.

the tournament on this machine is wrapping up soon. it’s on the last day, and there’s close to $1,000 in real money prizes to be had. so, i’ll be going for the gusto. go big or go home on this one!

cleopatrasPyramid
there are a LOT of things to keep track of on this machine. well, that’s if you want to. truth be told, it’s a slot machine, and they rack up the winners whether you notice them or not.

the things i have figured out are the WILD symbol is a Doubling WILD, so that helps a lot. it’s the Cleopatra symbol. and the scatter symbols are the Scarabs. I haven’t hit on them yet, but they’re there. i see them whizzing by on the reels. if they ever land, there’s some free spins in it for me.

and the last thing i can manage to keep track of are the egyptian moonlight symbols. those are confined to reels 2 and 4, so they’re easy to spot. they unlock a bonus feature. haven’t hit them either.

there are a couple of neat things about the slot. it does have an autoplay function, so you can set it and let it go for a while. after not having the autospin on a couple of machines, having it back again is kind of nice. i’m finding i do get a lot more spins in much more quickly this way.

also, there’s a “Stop Reels” button on the machine. if waiting for five different reels to finally come to a stop requires more patience than you want to spend, hit the Stop Reels button. bang, the whizzing halts.

i’m up to $1,100 in credits right now, which puts me in 10th place. that’s worth $10 in bonus money. i don’t know, first place looks out of reach, but third isn’t that far off. one more good hit playing $5 coins and i could be in the cash prizes.

well, i’m going for it. if i fade out to zero, then so be it. even the lowest cash prize is $100. in the meantime, here’s a copy of the payout chart.

hehe, that ended fast. ran cold right after the coin size move. oh well. had to take a shot. i guess i’ve been a well entertained loser tonight.

Wheel of Wealth - Special Edition

Posted in Everyday Posts, Video Slots by on the October 9th, 2006

woo-hoo. not the regular Wheel of Wealth, the special one!

i’m stumbling around All Jackpots Casino this afternoon before I decide to do something worthwhile with my day, and i was attracted to this slot. as soon as i sat down, the game told me that i will be playing a “coins-based” machine, and that my credits were turned into coins. they’d be turned back into credits after i leave the machine.

i think that’s the way some casinos powered by RTG work, but it’s the first time i came across that at a microgaming casino. nothing wrong with it, hell, it might be a better way to do things. just caught me by surprise at first, that’s all.

. . time passes . . .

oh, the slot machine. i was playing the $.02 coin size, because by now I’ve played away most of my bonus money, and all of my cash deposit. but, the slot was being super-friendly. i hit a bonus screen right away. well, a bonus round.

landing three bonus symbols on a payline (starting at the left of the screen, they aren’t scatters) unlocks a bonus round. the rest of the symbols fade into the background, and the bonus symbols come to life. you then choose a bonus symbol, and win whatever prize was underneath.

this first time, i won 500 credits. woo-hoo! and then, ahem, the machine revealed that i had chose the lowest of the hidden prizes. couple that with the fact that i was spending 200 credits a spin, and my woo-hoo should have been a boo-hoo. oh well.

it did give me a little more time on the machine. and, with those extra spins, i hit this thing again . . .
wow unlock screen 1
and this time, i picked the Best of the hidden prizes, a round on the Wheel of Wealth. woo-hoo!

wow spin screen 1

as the wheel is spinning, i’m saying “please don’t land on a 20. what good would that do?” i didn’t realize that since i had been playing 10 coins on that spin, my bonus would be multiplied by 10. and, as it turns out, the wheel landed on 800, which is much better. multiply that by 10, and it was an 8,000 credit win!

now, that made me much happier!

well, it’s a beautiful sunny day, so i’m off to smile in the sunshine. maybe hit the pool and throw some chicken on the grill. a nice start to the weekend. if i don’t blog over the weekend, i’ll catch you on Monday!

TombRaider Bonus at All Jackpots

Posted in Everyday Posts, Video Slots by on the October 9th, 2006

got an email this morning. perhaps it came yesterday, but i wouldn’t know it as i was unable to connect to the net all day (and suffered some mild withdrawal as a result). but, apparently i tripped whatever flag that All Jackpots has for offering some more free cash.

that’s wild because i’m not done playing off my original welcome bonus. but, they put $10 in my account, and i’ll take it.

it’s bonus money, but that still works in the machines and on the tables. and, when i went to the casino this morning, there was a nice welcome popUp window that said basically, “congratulations, we’ve given you $10 because we like you. and, we have a $15 bonus on the side if you want to deposit another $50 and spend some time playing the TombRaider slot machine.”

that’s one of the things that slot players get. extra little niceties from the casinos. well, to be honest maybe they give things like that to other gamers, but with razor-thin odds on games like blackjack, i’m thinking they don’t court those players as heavily.

sure enough, it did entice me to spend a bit of time at the TombRaider game today. did pretty well too. i hit the free spins (10 of them), and on my second spin hit something i didn’t know existed. it was a tripling multiplier, so all of the winners on the rest of my free spins would be tripled. and then, during the free spins, BAM, i hit the choose an idol bonus screen.

the whole thing treated me kindly, and helped me get the bankroll back up a bit. whew.

lots of stuff to do today, so i think my spinning is done until tomorrow. just wanted to share the happy news about the free spins, the bonus screen, and the $10 free. i’m not sure whether or not i’ll take them up on the next deposit bonus. $15 on $50, that’s 30%. that’s a good one, imho.

till next time, best of luck at the reels folks!

Tomb Raider

stumbling across the net, i wandered onto a page that told the wonders of All Jackpots Casino. i already have a couple of microgaming casinos on my computer, so i didn’t honestly need another. but, they have this thing called ClearPlay.

ClearPlay tracks your bonus and cash accounts for you, so that you don’t have to do any accounting chores in order to cash out your bonus money. i wanted to see how that worked, and they were offering a buy $50 get $200 welcome bonus. 400% is an awesome bonus, so i signed up.

i’m not sure if the bonus is automatic or not. the screen said it’d be in my account inside of three hours or so (something like that, exact numbers escape me). i had to go to town anyway, so i opened the account, made a $50 deposit and went off to do my chores.

when i came home there was $275 in my account. why, i’m not sure. i think there may have been $200 in bonus, my $50, and perhaps a neteller bonus in there? . . . just checked the website, yep, that’s it. a $25 bonus for using neteller to make my first deposit.

heh, deposit $50, get $275. sweet.

they have this table game that is basically a poker machine. you get five cards, and you get paid according to the ranks of any hand you may build. i spent some time there playing that. and then, off to the slots!

Tombraider
i like microgaming’s slots. they don’t have all of the types i like best, but the slots they do have, i like. i spent some time on the TombRaider machine. It’s a video slot with a coupe of cool features in it.

one of the features is the idols bonus. i hit that during my session :) see . . .

tombRaiderIdols 1

which unlocks this bonus screen where i managed to find $50 or so in hidden treasure . . .

tombraiderBonusScreen 1

soon after sleep came upon me, and i’m not near finished playing off my credits, so i might head back there tonight. we’ll see.

in the meantime, i did get to see the clearplay bonus system in action. they basically track your wagering for you and make it easy to see what you have left in your cash account and your bonus account. i spent all my cash, and now i’m working on the bonus money. that much i might have guessed on my own, but, i can imagine that if/when it comes time to cash out, i’ll be very happy that i won’t have to bother with trying to figure out my total wagers. it’s easier if the casino keeps track of it.
