Fat Cat

Posted in Everyday Posts, Slot Tournaments by on the November 12th, 2006

logging in to english harbour today i noticed the weekend slot tournamnet open on the Fat Cat slot machine, so i signed up.  in order to “qualify” for the rankings in the tournament, you need to take 20 spins on the machine.

after my 20 spins, i found out that i’m near 170th place.  starting with $300 in credits, i moved up slightly to a total of $317 at the moment.

there’s a good deal of prize money in this tourney - $250 in bonus money and nearly $600 in cash - but, the payouts don’t come far down the line.  the top 10 finishers look to be taking all of the cash, so it’s a go big or go home kindof event.

i may have made a bit of a mistake coming out playing just $5 a spin.  i’m not sure, but with the leaders having credit totals of upwards of $91,000 (that’s right, starting with $300.  WOW), i might have to crank it up a notch and hope for a quick visit from lady luck.

the slot itself is a 20 line video slot.  it’s fun that these tournaments are taking place on the new video slots at EH now, although i did come to like several of the old standard three reels they have.

i wasn’t able to do much with my high price spins.  not a lot of winners came my way, but i decided to go for a place in the tournament instead of just enjoying my time at the reels.  perhaps on a different day i would have just pecked away playing for as long as i could.

here’s a shot of the paytable, which i didn’t get to put to use very much :(

New Wheel of Chance Tournament

Posted in Everyday Posts, Slot Tournaments by on the November 3rd, 2006

ahhh, this was a pleasant surprise.  there is a new tournament starting up on the Wheel of Chance slot game that runs from the 3rd to the 7th of November at English Harbour.

it’s free to enter, like a LOT of the english harbour events.  the prizes are a combination of bonus money and cash.  the bonus money awards go to the top 10 finishers, so there is certianly a premium being placed on doing wayyyy above average here.

the cash goes to the top 3 spots.  right now there’s $147.50 in the cash pool and $250 in the bonus money pool, so the stakes are way down from last month’s mega-tourney, but hey, it’s spins on a great machine, with prize money for those who do well.  this is some honest fun for the daily player.

you start out the tourney with $300 in tournament credits.  right now the leaders have $34,000 (that’s right, well $33,900, but what’s $100 when you get it that high!) and $13,000.  so, there’s a lot of catching up to do.

i’m going to start off with  $.50 coins, so that’s $10 a spin.  no sense in burning off all my credits right away, but what use is pecking away with small winners by playing nickels?  this is a tourney where i think you should go relatively big, or just skip it, hehe.

so, with 30 spins to start out with . . . i manage to hit a set of free spins by landing three scatter symbols.  and i have to say, it was looking pretty bleak before i did that.  i thought for sure i’d be writing that i pissed almost all my credits right down the drain.  whew, now things aren’t looking so bleak :)

i’m sitting in 88th place though, with a little more than what i started with.  there’s $386 in credits to work with.  as for as much as i’d like to just stop and save it for another session, i’m going away this weekend so i won’t be able to get back to playing.  so, here’s goes nothing . . .

well, after $1780 in $10 wagers, plus 20 free spins, my experience in the Wheel of Chance tournament came to an end.  i never did get up to $400, but a couple of times i hit the free spins cycle to keep from going broke.

i guess it just wasn’t in the cards for this one.

$10,000 free slots tournament

Posted in Everyday Posts, Slot Tournaments by on the October 30th, 2006

that’s right.  apparently the $5,000 freeroll at english harbour went well enough to warrant a follow-up event.  and this time, they’re doubling the prize money, so that’s even better.

this new event will run during the month of November, but registration is already open for the early birds.  and that includes me, i’ve signed up so i can secure a spot.  that makes me just like 3,525 other people.  i’m expecting this to be a popular event.

the Novemeber $10,000 slot tournament is taking place on the Reel Deal slot machine.  so, not only is it going to be a lot of cash out there, it’s on the newest bestest slot they have at the casino.  it just sounds like a good deal all the way around.

of course, this new tournament opening up means that the first big slots freeroll, the October event on the wheel of chance machine, is about to come to a close.  i was lucky enough to land some winning combos on that machine, and i’m standing in 87th place in that one.  that’s above the money line by a good bit, so i’m feeling pretty sure that when the final bell goes off, i’ll be fine.  there were over 9,000 players in the Wheel of Chance event, so being in the top 87 is a pretty good showing!

i’ll be posting up a recap of the Reel Deal slot tourney as i start to take spins in it.  i do know that the starting totals are pretty good for the upcoming event.  everyone gets 400 in credits to begin with.

the prizes reach all the way down to 288th place, with the top spot pulling in $1,000 in bonus money! the top 88 get at least $50.  i’m not sure if they’re putting a cap in this event.  it’s probably going to be the biggest slot tournament EH ever had, and perhaps the biggest ever online.  i wonder how big those events at intercasino get?

either way, i’d consider signing up for this one as soon as you could, if you’re interested in events like this.  it’s a good one not to get locked out of.

Making My Move on the Wheel of Chance

Posted in Everyday Posts, Slot Tournaments by on the October 26th, 2006

well, i knew this day would come.  i’ve decided that now is the time i’m going to make my move in the tournament on the Wheel of Chance slot machine. i’m talking about the big $5,000 free slots tournament over at English Harbour/Superslots in case you’re just tuning in.

i took my warm up spins, and have had $373 in tournament credits sitting there almost all month.  that has me in 198th place, out of over 7,500 participants.  and while that’s not bad %-wise, it’s not in the money either.  the money comes down to 132nd place, so i have to jump up 60-some spots to make it.

my plan is to bet some more at $.50 a coin, making it $10 a spin.  hitting a winner then wouldn’t put me in the top, BUT i bet it would get me a lot closer to the money.  that’s the plan at least.

woo-hoo, a $135 winner!!  now i’m up to $487, and 156th place.  so, it worked!  but, i’m still not where i need to be, so i have to hit another winner.  at $10 a spin, a cold streak still puts me out of the tournament.

wow - up to $494, and 145th place!  i’m getting very close!

BINGO BABY!!!!

ok.  maybe that’s a little overexcitement, but i gotta love it when a plan comes together!  i kept spinning at the $.50 coin/$10 bet level, and ended up hitting three scatters, which pays off and unlocks a bonus spin session.  during the bonus spins i caught a couple of more winners.  nothing huge, but at this point every little bit was welcome!

now, i’m up to $693 and, ta da - 103rd place.  which is . . . in the money!

there’s definitely a chance i could get knocked out, but i’m thinking this is a pretty solid place to be standing with 3/4 of the players already entered and played out.

now, even though i didn’t win yet, and it’s only going to be $25 in bonus money if i do keep my ground, that’s still the kind of excitement i was looking for to start my day!  :)

$5,000 Slots Freeroll Begins

Posted in Everyday Posts, Slot Tournaments by on the October 10th, 2006

the month of October has started, and so has the mega slots freeroll at english harbour.

players are starting with $500 in tournament credits. i haven’t taken my first spin yet, and i can see that the top 10 players all have $3,000 or better in credits already. the lead player has well over $12,000 (you go russl90 !).

well, after my 10 warm up spins, which i took at the $.50 coin size ($10 a spin) i got nothing. that’s a quick way to shrink a bankroll. so, i took the coin size down a notch, and got a couple of winners. only one was large enough to cover the cost of a single spin.

needless to say, i’m not burning up the charts here, but there’s lots of time left in the tournament. and i still have over $300. actually, i have $370, so that’s far from reaching the bottom.

i’m stopping for now, sitting firmly in 143rd place.

$5000 Free Roll Slots Tournament

Posted in Slot Tournaments by on the October 10th, 2006
at English Harbour is here, kindof. Reigstration is now open, i’m the 32nd person registered, so i feel like i got in really early.

the games themselves start at the beginning of october, and run all month.

Prize Pool:
there is, ahem, $5,000 in prize money. i saw that there’s a one time playthrough required on any prize winnings, which i could certainly handle. that’s a lot better than 10x or whatever some of these casinos put in their terms.

it’s not a winner-take-all event, the monies are split up like this . . .

1st Place Prize: $500
2nd Place Prize: $250
5 3rd Place Prizes: $100
25 4th Place Prizes: $50
100 5th Place Prizes: $25

so that’s 132 different prizes.

players start with $500 in credits on the machine, and see how high they can build that before the month ends.

the tournament is being played on the wheel of chance five reel video slot, which is a fun game to begin with. the added prize money should make for a really exciting time.

this is, by far, the biggest freeroll slot tournament i’ve seen at the harbour.

Wheel of Chance Free Slot Tournament

Posted in Slot Tournaments by on the October 10th, 2006

this is going to be a biggie! just got off the phone with the fellas at English Harbour, nice chaps, and they let me know that they will be bumping up the focus on their free slot tournaments by offering a slot tournament on the Wheel of Chance 5 reel video slot in the month of October.

most of the free slot tournament action at the Harbour has been on the three reel machines, and the whole tourney runs a couple of days. if you’ve been reading about my slot machine adventures there, you know what the payouts have been a little under a grand for the tournament.

well, this upcoming Wheel of Chance slot tournament is scheduled to have $5,000 in prizes. that’s some big stuff, considering it’s free.

none of this action starts until october (so i can hit up the new microgamings when they come out at the end of the month, then go over to EH to take some spins in the tourney). the other interesting thing is that it runs all of October.

oh, and they’re planning on capping the event at 10,000 players, which is fine. i know that between myself and the other regular tourney players at the casino, there’s about 1,000 or so of us. so, that leaves plenty of room for newcomers.

if you’re interested in getting in on this though, i’d play it safe and at least register sooner rather than later. once you register, you’ll have all month to do your playing.

if you don’t already have English Harbour casino on your computer, i’d suggest taking a free crack at their Wheel of Chance  before signing up. they have a regular deposit bonus for newbies (which is a lot more now than when i signed up :( ), but the bonus game adds some extra cash to your account on top of that, so it’s worth taking a spin.

Liberty 7’s

Posted in Everyday Posts, Reel Slots, Slot Tournaments by on the October 10th, 2006

well, i got into the liberty 7’s tournament, aptly titled since the game was played on the Liberty 7’s machine.

the slot is an old-fashioned three reel. there are a handful of symbols that can turn themselves into a laundry list of winning combinations. between the 7’s of several colors (red, white and blue, in tune with the liberty theme), and the bars (also multi-colored) and even blank spaces coming into play there are more than enough ways to win.

liberty7

Tournament Overview:
NO ENTRY FEE
23 places paid, cash to the top 3 finishers
$632 in cash (plus any “rebuy” money from now until the tourney’s end
$250 in bonus money

that’s nearly a thousand dollars out there, and it doesn’t cost anything to play. i’ll give that scene a thumbs up.

everybody starts the tourney with $200 in credits on the Liberty 7’s machine, and by everybody i mean 1280+ players. there tourneys are getting a bit of a following i must say. after completing my warm-up spins, i find out that i’m in 73rd place, so a lot of people must be hitting winners.

i managed to find the coldest machine on earth for this tourney. i got in 100 spins, at $3 each. i was playing $1 coins, and played max coin because the top 2 payouts paid a premium if you were playing max coins.

so, after $300 in action, i was broke. the long cold streak kept me waiting for this big winner to land, but it wasn’t happening. i think i experienced a 66% payout tonight. maybe that’s just deserts for the hot machines i hit in other slot tournaments, or, maybe i can hope for a hot machine in the next one!

oh yeah, i’m going to tag this to all my english harbour posts, but after checking in here at the guys at english harbour hooked me up with a Wheel of Chance Bonus Game  that anyone who stops by can take a spin on. there’s a couple of bucks in what i think is bonus cash up for grabs. if you’re thinking of getting in on the free slots tournaments action at english harbour, take a spin on the wheel first. no sense turning it down, and who knows what spin is going to be the lucky one, so while they’re handing out cash, take it.

Free Slot Tournaments

Posted in Slot Tournaments by on the October 10th, 2006

well, the football game is too good to turn off, so i thought i’d stay up and watch it and maybe get a few spins in during the commercials.

i wandered into EHarbour, and checked out the tournament offerings tonight, and there are a bunch. a couple of table games, and three different slot tourneys. two of the three are free slot tournaments. those are on the Liberty 7’s and the Crazy Cherries machines.

i was greeted by a popUp at the casino that said i won a drawing for $10 in bonus cash. woo-hoo! i’ll take it!

there is one slot tourney listed for the Cleopatra’s Pyramid. that one is a buy-in event for $5, which is certainly reasonable. so i thought i’d test out buying in with my new found bonus cash. but, no dice. i didn’t expect it would work, but i thought i oughta try

the prize pool for the tournament is up over $1,600, so for five bucks that’s pretty awesome.

but, i’m not up for a deposit at the moment, and i just cashed out everything a few eeks ago, so there’s nothing left to play with here. so, off to one of the free slot tournaments . . .

i’m a winner!

Posted in Everyday Posts, Slot Tournaments by on the October 10th, 2006

well, maybe not THE winner, but A winner. yesterday my internet connection was down, so i couldn’t check and see how i was doing in the tournament. and, i didn’t have the chance to get in any last-minute spins.

but, logging into EH this morning shows a jump in both my cash balance, and an extra $75 in my bonus account. nice. very nice.

i must have finished high enough to win $50 or so in real money, so that’s 3rd or 4th place. and, i ‘ll take it  :)

there’s another tournament going on on the Payday slot machine, which i’ve already written about. so, in trying to get my “qualifying spins” in, i kindof burned through my entire bankroll. i was playing max coins at $10 a coin. i’m not sure that’s the best strategy, but there is a difference in payouts when you’re playing max coins on that game, so that’s what i did. i think i hit one small winner and boom, before you know it the credits are all gone.

oh well.
