English Harbour

Posted in Casinos by on the October 8th, 2006

i started playing blackjack at the online casinos, hmmm, a long time ago.  and, the first casino i ever played at was English Harbour, so i didn’t feel strange going back there tonight to do some playing.

it turns out that when i tried to fire up the casino on my computer, i was getting an error message.  and the error message had a number to call, so i did.  the poor lady answers the phone on the third ring and asks how she can help me.  so, without introducing myself, i ask “what does error message zero, zero, zero, four mean?”.  and without skipping a beat she says “it’s a login error.  either the account number or the password you’re using doesn’t match the information for your account in our database.”

that was a good stretch better than i expected.  so, while i was on the phone, we got the account number and password situation settled.  must have taken almost all of three minutes.  i probably should have been impressed, but i was just happy to be able to log in without any problems.

i was happy to find a couple of dollars in my account that i left behind.  not that happy though, i could probably have wandered through life for some time to come without ever thinking about cashing that account out all the way.  but, now i know it’s there, and i’ll be sure to cash it out at some point.

in the lobby of the casino is a button that lets you enter the “tournament lobby”.  not a big deal if you’re at a poker room, but a brand new casino experience for me.

inside the tournament lobby is a list of the tournaments taking place, and there are three.  i chose to enter the freeroll slots tourney, on the Atomic Jackpot machine.  i was wrong earlier, the other slots tournament, on the Big Bonus machine, has a $10 entry fee. it isn’t a freeroll.

i click on register for the tournament, it tells me it will cost $0.  i’m ok with that, so i proceed, and bingo, there i am at the Atomic Jackpot slot with $600 in tournament credits on the machine.

the screen tells me i’m starting in 17th place, which is better than the starting position of a lot of NASCAR drivers on Sundays.  it gives me the time remaining in the tournament, and the number of spins i’ve taken.

if you look in the tournament lobby you can see the nicknames of the players that are ranked in the top ten, and their tournament credit balances.

so, now im ready to settle in for some action.
