New Microgaming Games
well, i didn’t receive my usual “heads up” this month, so this may be a little behind the “breaking news” category, but microgaming has announced the names of the new slots they’re adding this month.
both of the machines appear to be video slots. They’re titled “Porky Payouts” and “High Life”. i can’t tell much from the images that i did manage to find. one looks to have just a few paylines, while the other might be 20+. i guess we’ll see either when i get some new news sent my way, or when they roll out!
in the meantime, i have a bit of an announcement to make about the blog. i’m sortof retiring! it’s not that life as a slots-blogger is the most demanding of professions. (lol, it’s not a profession, it’s completely a hobby). but, i guess i woke up one morning and realized that the right thing to do is to hand this site off to someone else now.
i can’t say for sure when the new fella will be taking over the blogging duties. but i do know that the reigns have been handed over. i’m back to being an official bum. the title isn’t impressive, but it feels good!! lol.
in the meantime, i’ll probably get some more posts in before it’s all said and done. so please don’t go erasing any bookmarks quite yet!! hehe.
oh, a by the way, the next two weeks will have slots freerolls at the Harbour. they’ll run a week long, and have at least $5,000 in prize money. i guess that 5 card mulligan freeroll was a bit of an experiment, now it’s back to the slots for a couple of weeks!
Sci-Fi Casino Action
so, i wander into Engish Harbour, as is my habit, and it turns out that this week the big freeroll tournament they’re having isn’t on a slot machine. it’s on a table game. they have a new poker-based table game called 5 Card Mulligan or Mulligan Poker or some such thing. it looked cool, and i might get back there tomorrow afternoon just to play around, but i was really thinking of a little slots action today.
so, i started browsing through the casinos on my machine. i’ve been spinning the reels at all jackpots pretty regularly, and i’m still thinking about hitting that cashout button there. i’m not sure. so i kept browsing.
i stumble across Sci-Fi casino. i used to play there when i played blackjack a lot because they use the casino games made by RTG. and, that was the best blackjack on the net, in my opinion. the slots at the time were truly horrible. so bad that i think they were neck in neck with most of the “free java slot machines” that i’d find on some geocities website. that amateurish.
but, i guess things have changed. they have a couple of new series of slots. well, new to me, and i’ll grant you it’s been years since i’ve opened the casino on my ‘puter. so, they could be months old, or a year old, and i wouldn’t know the difference.
anyway, i decided to test a few of them out. and, long-ish story short, in goofing around i hit some free spin sessions and ended up a couple of bucks ahead of where i started. i wasn’t really in the mood to review slot machines today, but i think i might be going back and taking a closer look at some of them.
there were some “modern” features on the games now, like the suspense mode on the video slots that i played. and multiplying wild symbols, free spin sessions. stuff they didn’t used to have on their games.
so that’s it in a nutshell. i experienced a bit of a change of pace, and may have stumbled onto something that will hold my amusement for a while.
hoe you have a good weekend at the reels!
Another Superbowl Comes and Goes
superbowl sunday is without a doubt, one of the top 5 eating days of the year. at least it is where i live.
we have one of those gatherings that happens every year where everyone invited brings their best covered dish. and everyone brings enough to feed everyone. that results in the by now expected, ton of food left over phenomenon. after all, if uncle Al brings his fried chicken, and brings enough to feed 30 - and mr morris brings enough of his crab cakes for 30 - and mrs kowalski brings enough of her home made pierogies to feed 30 - well, you get the picture.
everything on the tables is prime stuff, and there’s plenty to go around. and i must have gained four or five pounds yesterday.
oh yeah, there was a football game too. i think baltimore won it. oh wait, they moved, there’s a new team in baltimore now. archie manning’s kid, his team won.
now, on to the good stuff . . .
i took the $25 that all jackpots gave me, and pumped it back into the Tunzamunni machine. a couple of hundred spins later and it’s all gone. but, what the heck, that’s a couple of hundred extra spins on the house.
with the winner i got playing pennies on the new prime poperty slot game, i have enough to justify a cashout at the casino. and, since the wife just had her birthday and we haven’t gone to dinner yet, i think i’m going to go inthere and push cashout.
i have some bonus money in the casino, so that i’ll leave behind. besides, it’ll give me something to pay around with for the next, i don’t know, however long. between that and the freerolls and the cash and bonuses i have at English Harbour, my playing is covered for I’d say the next couple of weeks, if not the month
so, i’m off to hit the cashout button again at All Jackpots. it’s after noon on monday, so we’ll see how long things take this time. maybe i’ll be going out to dinner on thursday? or maybe sunday night, i’ll let you know.
All Jackpots Casino’s Customer Service
well, i’ll be dipped. i had gotten that mailer from All Jackpots, the one with the cd and the $25 no deposit bonus offer. and, i decided that it was available to new players as a kind of recruitment offer, or welcome bonus or whatever. but, just to be a half a bother, i sent their support a letter to basically say “why are you sending me this if i can’t use it”?
and, they got back to me.
it took a bit, but with things going on right now with deposits and everything, i figured it would.
and do you know what they said? i think i can tell you this without breaking any confidences:
“You can go ahead and claim the bonus on your existing account; xxxxxxxxx and I hope it brings you lots of luck and enjoyment. ”
what the hell? i’m waiting for a canned response about offers to new players and how their sad they wouldn’t be able to help me on this and blah, blah, blah. and instead, i get, “sure, go ahead. have fun”. and, they knew my account number, so someone must have looked something up. hmmm, an actual human, doing a bit of research to get to know the customer, and then going the extra step to take care of them.
i’m floored. not because i didn’t think the casino was an up and up place, but because when given the opportunity to shrug their shoulders and say “sorry kid”, they took the high road. i wouldn’t have expected this level of service from most land-based fortune 500 companies, but i get it from an online casino.
and, i don’t think there’s any way they know i’m a blogger and this incident would make it into cyber-print. i think they’re just that level of folks. the “do the right thing + 1″ type.
i entered my info on their website, started this post, and i just checked. the cash is already in my casino account.
wow. i’m a bit jaded usually, but i’m truly impressed by this.
hehe, now i’m going to take a couple of cracks at the tunzamunni prize ;) many thanks and a couple of thumbs up to all jackpots casino.
Happy Groundhog’s Day
good morning. much to do today, but i wanted to get a quick blog post in. i stopped in at english harbour thinking there might be a freeroll going, but i couldn’t find one. at least not at first. checking their website it said clearly, the Money Shot $5,000 free slots tourney was going on.
sure enough, when i logged back in, it’s there. i just overlooked it. thursday nights i work late, must remember to load up on the coffee on friday morning so my eyes at least work
i’ve never played the Money Shot machine before, so i’m going to save my time in this tournament for early next week i think. take some screenshots and kind of review the slot as i go along.
the tourney itself is already rocking and rolling with over 13,000 players involved, and it’s only day 2. the top player has $134,000 already. i know that slots can really pay off. in fact, it’s one of the great things about the machines. they aren’t like blackjack where you can win as much as you bet.
want to win $50 at a blackjack table, then, you have to risk $50. heck, i just won $50 yesterday on a slot machine playing for pennies. i think the spin cost 40 cents. so i know you can hit a sizeable winner. but to take $500 and turn it into $134,000 that’s insane.
but, people do it. at least in these tournaments.
never did hear back from all jackpots about that mailer. i’m sure they’re flooded with customer support inquiries about deposit methods sand stuff now that neteller has dropped all US casino players. i’m not even sure how i’d make a deposit right now if i wanted to, so i won’t hold it against them. soley because of the timing mind you
Playing Slots on your Mobile Phone
i’m not a mobile phone kind of person at all. i have one, and i turn it on to make a call, then turn it off when i’m done. yep, i’m one of those people. i get cell phone calls from two people. my wife, and my daughter. no one else on earth dials my cell number.
but, i did just get a mailer from Slotland (i play there from time to time) about Mobile Phone Slot Machines.
apparently, they have mobile phone versions of five of their slots. Lucky Stars, Jacks or Better, Golden 8, Booster, and Striking 7’s all come in a version that you can play on your cell phone.
that’s kind of neat, but maybe not so newsworthy. i don’t know, but the mailer also said that Slotland is offering a money back guarantee to anyone that plays these games over their mobile phone in February, so that, is newsworthy.
here’s how it works, while you’re reading this:
> Visit Slotland
> Register as a player
Now, the phone part:
“How to play?
1. Go to http://wap.slotland.com on your cell phone or other mobile device.
2. Select ‘Game Downloads’.
3. Your phone will be auto-detected. If not, scroll down to find your brand and model.
4. Download and install our games.
5. Play and have fun!”
Now the Money-Back part:
“We are confident that you will be satisfied with our mobile games and therefore we are offering you a money back guarantee. If you play any of our mobile games this month (February 2007) and are not satisfied, simply email our support (support@slotland.com) explaining why or what you didn’t like and we will return up to $25 of your deposit (only applies to deposits made in February). Money back offering conditions are:
(A) Deposits will be redeemed only up to $25.
(B) All redeems will be processed at 8th April 2007.
(C) Wagering requirement for all redeems will be set to ONE times.”
there, that’s the whole of it. i just thought i’d make mention of it because for a lot of other people it could be some neat stuff. it might be fun to try just to see what it’s like.
oh, the Requirements info:
“Requirements: you need a mobile device with a color display, java support and data transfer enabled from your mobile network operator. To check if your operator supports java, please have a look here: http://www.slotland.com/requirements.html
For further info, check our Slotland Mobile page: http://www.slotland.com/mobile.html or installation page: http://www.slotland.com/installation.html. A How To Play guide can be found here: http://www.slotland.com/howtoplay.html.”
Prime Property Slot Game
well, the Prime Property machine is on the loose as well, so i’m getting a few spins in on that one today.
it has an unbelievable 40 different paylines. if you’re wondering how you can ever spins without hitting something if there’s that many paylines, trust me, i can do it.
here is how they fit them onto five reels . . .
the images on the reels are a mix of expensive homes and the faces of some real estate characters that i would trust to watch my cat. hehe, the “theme” of the slot is just not to my taste, let’s let it at that.
there are some special features in the game though. there is a WILD symbol, which is basically a “for sale” sign with Prime Property written on it. i think it looks kindof cool.
there’s also a scatter symbol, which is a “move it” truck. instead of having a set payout when you land enough scatters, it acts as a multiplier. here’s what they have written on the paytable . . .
“wins multiplied by total bet staked” - not sure what that means. but, to help confuse me more, they also have this written - “wins added to payline wins” followed by a small chart.
the chart says land 3 scatters get 2. 2 what i’m not sure, but 2.
i only have a couple of bucks left, but i’m hoping to hit a scatter just to see what they’re talking about!
oh, the scatter isn’t the end of the special symbols. there’s also a “property bonus” symbol that is used in triggering a free spins session. and this session sounds sweet. here, i’ll let you read it for yourselves . . .
overall, i don’t like the human characters, i can’t tell the difference between the houses on the reels, there are too many paylines for me to think about keeping track of, and i don’t understand the way the scatter and free spins symbols work. lol, other than that, i LOVE the doorbell sound that rings when you land a free spin symbol.
ok - i just hit a scatter for 80 coins. it was the only win on the screen. i got 80 coins for it. that would be 2 times the number of coins i bet. that makes sense.
wait, i just hit the bonus game - there’s a page from the newspaper with 18 houses on it. i pick houses until the “free spin bonus” starts. so, here we go . . .
quiet neighborhood + 1 spin
lakeside cottage + 1 multiplier
family home + 5 spins
backyard pool + 7 spins
rockStar house + 1 spin
great party house + 2 spins
spanish feel + 2 multiplier
mediterranean + 1 spin
holiday house + 2 spins
modern, simple living + 2 spins
quaint and cute + 10 spins
pet friendly + 1 spin
small and simple + 1 spin
nature lover + 1 multiplier
winter by the fireplace + 3 spins
trendy + 1 free spin
interesting layout + 1 multiplier
I’ve Run Out Of Houses!! well, there’s one left, it says “fixer upper”, so the final curtain reveals . . . .
well, that’s about the jackpot i’d say. i could not have done any better on this bonus round game, picking the “start free spins” as the very last piece.
i have a total of 38 spins, with the winning combinations being multiplied by 6
at the end of the round - i caught a total of over 6,000 coins in winnings. even at a penny a piece that’ll pay for a trip to Appleby’s, lol.
well, i going to end on a good note today. so, there, that’s my test drive for the new Prime Property slot machine from Microgaming. this happy session took place at all jackpots casino (who still didn’t get back to me about that mailer i received, but i’ll forgive them for the day
).
Magic Spell Test Drive
this is the first of the new slots i’m trying out. it’s a video slot - 25 reels - up to 10 coins a line. that’s a lot of wagering options.
the theme is a cat’s school of magic, so it’s a cross between harry potter, and, i don’t know, some disney movie where all the characters are cats. the intro flash movie is kindof cool. they’re playing one of those sliding puzzle games where the tiles are letters instead of numbers, and eventually it spells out “Magic Spell”, then whisks you off to the slot.
the slot has a line-up of cats on the reels, as well as some images from the school. so there are books with a uniform necktie, a picture of the schoolhouse, things of that nature.
the WILD symbol is Master Tom. here’s the unique thing about this symbol, it only substitutes for certain symbols. so it’s not the traditional WILD that will fill in anywhere it’s needed. instead, this guy only fills in winners with the other cat symbols. typical cat thing, even the wild symbols on a slot machine are finicky!
besides filling in a winner, it’s also a multiplier. it’ll multiply the value of the winner by five, so that’s quite a hike in the payout.
wait, i just hit a winner using the WILD, and now i’m officially confused. here’s a shot of it . . .
i got paid, and the win was multiplied, and there were no cats involved. maybe wince i landed three of the WILDS in a row? i don’t know.
lol, that’s the great thing about slots. they just pay you for the winners, whether or not you can pick them out!
oh, here’s the payline layout . . .
another feature is the “MAGIC” round. you need to line up 5 symbols for this one, instead of the usual “land three or more scatter symbols” approach. i failed to land all five, so i can’t tell you what the bonus screen game is really like.
i do know that once you hit the first two symbols, the machine goes into suspense mode. the reels spin a little longer, and the music changes pitch. and for me, it all snaps out of it once i miss landing that “i” on the fourth reel! lol.
at the moment, everyone must be getting in to the casinos and downloading/playing because the game is a bit jerky, like the computer connection is getting clogged or something. the animation isn’t smooth, and it’s not really as much fun as it should be. so, i’m walking away for a while. i’ll get to reviewing the others tomorrow i hope, and i’m sure it’ll be more fun when things are all spinning smoothly.
but for now, my first impressions of the machine is that it has a couple of new twists to it, so that’s cool.
the new microgaming slots are live for Feb already
just checking, because i’m curious, and sure enough the new slots are available for download at all jackpots.
they’re downloading like syrup too, so i can only imagine how many other people are logging into their favorite microgaming right now downloading the new games.
i’m not sure how long the bankroll will hold up, and now with the deposit methods all getting closed down, i’m not sure if i’ll get all the new slots reviewed or not, but i’ll give it a go.
the first one i’m trying out is the Magic Spell one . . .
$25 Free - No Purchase Required
that’s what this little packet i just got from All Jackpots says. it came in the regular mail, and sat in the “for real” mailbox all day.
i’ve been playing my microgaming at All Jackpots for months now, so i thought maybe they noticed and sent me some kind of coupon or some such thing. although i had to discount that idea because i really don’t rack up the wagers there. i just play for fun.
so, i opened it up, and found a disk with the casino software on it. pretty sharp looking cd, if i must say.
took a pic of it, it might look cooler in person:
cool-looking, but for me, completely useless. i’m already a player. and i really think that this is meant for new players only. so, there’s no sense in me going to:
http://www.alljackpots.com/cdbonus.php and entering my player account info, and this ”personal claim code” that they’ve given me.
so what’s the point?
well, two-fold i suppose. first, someone in the “hard address” mailing list department either goofed, or is a bit aggressive. and, if you’re not already signed up, there might be an open door for you (?)
i’d say, call them up, and ask for a cd to be sent out (with bonus code!). especially if you’re on dial-up. instead of spending hours getting the slots downloaded over the phone line, you can get them all on one disk delivered to your door.
i was just about to toss this in the trash can, but i think i’m going to send support an email about it, just to see what they’ll come up with for a response. i’m feeling rather devilish tonight, so why not?
i’ll keep you posted if there’s anything at all interesting with their response
